Cambridge Sustainable Food Partnership (CSF), which supports our local food hub in the pavilion on Paget Road, has received a £30,000 Food Resilience Grant from Sustainable Food Places (SPF) in recognition of the positive impact their community work has had on local people hit hardest by the Covid-19 crisis.
This grant will help fund new exciting initiatives that work towards resilientcommunity solutions to food poverty and sustainable local food systems, including increasing community skills, knowledge and involvement in the food system, increasing support for ethnically diverse communities, and establishing a permanent redistribution hub.
As well as enabling CSF to continue to support Trumpington, the grant will alsol support Cambridge’s first community farm, CoFarm, run growing activities with the local community. CoFarm are also supporting the emergency food response donating close to 100% of its harvest throughout 2021 – estimated to help make 13, 250 meals made with local and seasonal produce grown in harmony with nature to support the community.
